Welcome to Englicious, 12 Graders!

Now we are starting fresh and getting ready to be rejuvenated in the classroom. The main topic (as always) will be the glocal issues happening around us. This year, we will deal with our own way of Perceiving the World Differently through  topic of Global Poverty, as well as to find out our role in maintaining Environmental Sustainability through the issue of Global Warming (Between Myth and Reality), and of course – since this class will face the what is so-called National Exam, the final menu on the list is Preparing for the Future that mostly will deal with types of texts and expressions.

The things we cover will most likely be as follow:

  1. Expressions for : suggesting, begging, complaining, discussing possibilities to do something, giving commands, acknowledging one’s fault, promises, blaming, expressing curiosity, stating stances, persuading, suggesting, criticizing, giving expectation, reminding, showing regrets, making plans, stating purpose and aim, giving prediction, speculating, and giving opinion.
  2. Types of text: narrative, explanation, discussion, and review.
  3. All the things that most likely will appear in the National Exam.

Well, happy tasting the deli of English and tell the world – through your blog – that you are the Glocal Generation!

  13. miss, i want to ask a question. i get confuse. here in wordpress i get only one post available each page. you said before that we have to post all tasks in poverty page..
    please help me miss

    1. Okay… herewith the stages, hope it helps:
      1. Open your dashboard.
      2. On the left control panel, there’s a “Pages” item, click!
      3. On the “Pages” webpage, click “Add New”. Voila! Type Global Poverty on the title bar, and paste all of your poems +activities n reflection.
      4. You can delete “About Site” and just write your profile in on your homepage http://untdstudents.wordpress.com/. –or– write something on the homepage and add an “About” page.

      Still confused? You can find me in teacher’s lounge and I’ll tell you how! 😀 Good luck!

      1. It means all poems, activities, and reflection will be in one post even there are more than one tasks? I thought there’s one post for each task.

        About home, it shows the most recent post. so, I could not make it to be “About” because there must be replaced by the newer post.

  15. May I add some news about poverty miss?

    I got lots of facts that might surprised readers. I just want to share it but I don’t know how. so I asked your permit. It will not be in either “about” or “Global Poverty Pages”. It will be shown on home. My home is Empty and I could not delete it. It is just to fill home. Just Check it miss

    1. You have to make a new page: “Environmental Sustainability” and type the process (activities) before and after you create the writing: reading, watching videos about…, writing…., having a debate on…, etc…

    1. sorry miss, there is one of picture that can’t be scan because the paper is so big and we try to take that picture with camera but forget. and so sorry miss because we can’t upload all the picture, when we upload it “error”. so difficult miss, we use blogspot not wordpres, take a long time to upload the pictures.
